Bill, 34. Goal: to change food habits, and lose weight as a result.
After an initial review of Bill's eating habits, we identified areas where Bill could make small changes to his food patterns. Bill made the changes, lost weight and his new healthy lifestyle has meant that he is keeping the weight off without going on a diet!
Bill had a meeting every three weeks for four months to reach his goal.
Clare provided me with the insight, information and motivation to assess my eating habits and help me learn about the food I was eating. Clare being able to understand my needs enabled her to create a programme which was easy for me to follow, and Clare’s attentiveness ensured that if I slipped from following the plan, she made it easy for me to get back on the right track. I am now armed to make the “right” eating choices
Jennifer, 69. Goal: manage illness recovery & longevity
After an initial review of Jennifer's health, diet and lifestyle factors we developed a plan to assist her to recover from her illness and focus on living a long and healthy life. This included adding new foods to Jennifer's diet, reducing consumption of some foods (but not cutting them out totally) and introducing more exercise to her lifestyle.
Jennifer had a meeting every two weeks for five months to reach her goal.
After surgery I was lacking energy. Clare helped me to understand the importance of eating certain foods to ensure that my recovery was given the best chance. Clare's knowledge of the latest research meant that she was able to guide me towards a food pattern that not only helps my recovery but also will help me to stay healthy and remain independent for longer! Clare is professional, private and caring.
Gabriella's parents - Robyn and Geoff, 84 and 87. Goal: assist ageing parents to improve their eating patterns, without making too many changes to their diet. Included a pantry and fridge assessment.
Gabriella was concerned that her parents food patterns were not optimum for living a long healthy life. She arranged for them to have a review of their diet to ensure they were eating foods that were healthy and helped with logevity.
Robyn and Geoff had an initial meeting to discuss their food habits, and review a food diary. Two weeks later we met to review their pantry and fridge, and provide advice for a diet for longevity. They now meet every two months or so to revise their food habits.
Clare was very professional and treated my parents with absolute respect. She discussed my parents goals, and helped them to review their diet without removing the foods they loved. Clare stressed that healthy eating is not about removing foods you love, just identifying that moderation and variation is key.
Mark, 75. Goal: manage diabetes type 2
After an initial review of Mark's weight (waist circumference predicts diabetes type 2), blood sugar history, health and lifestyle factors; we reviewed his meal patterns, likes and dislikes and perceptions of food. This assessment lead us to determine an eating pattern that could assist Mark to maintain blood glucose levels as near to normal as possible.
Mark had a meeting every two weeks for four months to reach his goal. We also have a follow-up meeting every six months to ensure Mark is keeping on track.
Being diagnosed with diabetes was a shock, and I felt I needed help with what to eat. I consulted Clare and was very impressed with her professional, kind and empathetic approach. She helped me to learn about the foods that I can eat and assisted me with resources to find great recipes. Thanks to Clare, I can easily manage my diabetes without it being a daunting task.
